I cried because the letter made me feel relieved. It is the relief in knowing that despite the discomfort they experienced when they took their first day examinations, the students insinuate that they did not mind, that they are willing to suffer with their teachers, and that they understand the situation we are all in. The thought that they are willing “to help and to brighten my day” leaves a mark in my heart. How fulfilling it is to be a teacher!!! In times like these, who could not be touched by the words that come from a first year student who is just starting to learn the realities of life.   I am thanking the Lord for this wonderful feeling of love and affection. I hope and pray that majority, if not all, of the Philippine Science High School students would show the same concern to all the teachers who suffered   great losses because of the fire.

 

To Issa and I-Garnet, you are all here in my heart. You really brighten my day! Now, I am smiling!

 

 

First: the vigilance of the security guards and their immediate action which led to the immediate response of the fire brigades which arrived quickly to the scene of the fire at around 1:15 am last Tuesday morning, September 30, 2008 at the PSHS campus. We appreciate very much their genuine concern to protect our campus and for the efficient handling of the situation.
